Commentary:
Temptation often feels strongest when our choices seem narrow. In those moments, the adversary would have us believe that surrender is inevitable, that our weakness has already decided the outcome. Scripture teaches otherwise. God is faithful. He knows our frame, understands the pressures we face, and promises that temptation will never arrive without a way through it. That way may require us to walk away, speak up, ask for help, change an environment, or endure discomfort for a time, but obedience is always possible through His grace.
Freedom depends upon this truth. Agency would have little meaning if temptation could completely remove our ability to choose. God does not promise that every righteous choice will be easy. A fire exit does not remove the fire, but it provides a path to safety for the person willing to take it. In the same way, the Lord often provides escape before temptation reaches its strongest point. A warning impression, a remembered scripture, a trusted friend, a decision made in advance, or the courage to leave can become His appointed doorway. Wisdom recognizes that we should not linger near what we are praying to overcome.
There is also humility in accepting the escape God provides. Sometimes we imagine strength means standing close to temptation and proving we can resist it. Christlike strength often looks different. It means submitting our will to God, recognizing danger early, and choosing righteousness before pride convinces us to test our limits. Jesus taught us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” reminding us that dependence upon God is not weakness but spiritual wisdom. As we trust His faithfulness and act upon the way He provides, we grow in self-mastery, moral courage, and Christlike living.

Daily Application:
Identify one recurring temptation today and decide in advance what your way of escape will be. Remove one trigger, set one boundary, or contact someone who can strengthen your resolve.
I need this reminder especially in this time of chaos in the world and in my country. God is in control and He
Will do What He is His Will.
I can ALWAYS rely on scripture- His word, I just need to take that way of escape.
Escape from fear
Escape from anger
Escape from temptation to say
The wrong thing
Escape to leave
It and put it down and go be productive in His kingdom.
