“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee.” — Genesis 18:14
“He who descended below all things understands all things, and through Him, no trial is beyond redemption.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
There are moments in life when circumstances seem to defy reason and overwhelm hope. Bills stack higher than income, relationships fracture beyond repair, and prayers appear to echo without reply. In those moments, it is easy to quietly question what we once firmly believed. If God is truly omnipotent, why does this feel so out of control? The heart begins to drift, not into open rebellion, but into subtle doubt.
Yet the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” is not merely rhetorical. It is a divine invitation to recalibrate our perspective. We measure difficulty by our limitations, but God operates beyond them. What feels impossible to us is not even challenging to Him. More than that, He did not remain distant from our struggle. Through Christ, God condescended into mortality, taking upon Himself the full weight of human suffering. He did not merely observe pain, He experienced it, overcame it, and rose above it.
Because of this, Christ is perfectly able to succor us. He knows the depth of sorrow, the sting of injustice, and the burden of endurance. When He invites us to take His yoke upon us, it is not a command without understanding. It is a promise rooted in experience. Trusting Him is not blind faith, but a reasoned choice to follow One who has already walked the hardest road. This is the essence of Christlike living: to believe in His power, rely on His grace, and move forward with courage even in uncertainty.
Scripture:
“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee.” — Genesis 18:14
Daily Application:
Turn to Christ in a specific trial today and consciously rely on His strength rather than your own.
