“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
“God’s timing is never delayed, only preparing what our impatience cannot yet carry.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Patience is not passive. It is an active trust in the unseen work of God. In a world that rewards speed and instant results, waiting can feel like weakness. Yet, in God’s economy, waiting is often where the deepest strengthening occurs. Like a seed buried in the soil, growth is happening long before it breaks the surface. The delay is not denial. It is development.
We often measure time by our desires, but God measures it by readiness. A builder does not rush the foundation just to finish the house sooner. If the base is weak, everything built upon it will falter. In the same way, God uses seasons of waiting to fortify our character, deepen our faith, and align our hearts with His will. Impatience seeks control, but patience surrenders to divine order, trusting that what is being built is worth the time it takes.
True freedom is not found in forcing outcomes but in trusting God’s timing with courage and humility. When we choose patience, we acknowledge that God sees what we cannot and knows what we do not. This kind of trust reflects Christlike living, where obedience matters more than urgency and faith steadies the soul in every season.
