Daily Devotional - August 6th, 2026
“Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” — John 8:11

Commentary:
When the woman caught in adultery was brought before Jesus, the crowd came carrying stones while the Savior came carrying truth. He did not excuse her sin, nor did He join the voices eager to condemn her. Instead, He exposed the hearts of the accusers before speaking to the heart of the sinner. One by one, those who demanded judgment walked away, leaving the woman alone with the only Person who had the right to condemn her. Yet His words were, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
There is a lesson here for every disciple. Correction is not about proving we are right. It is about helping another soul become right with God. A skilled gardener removes weeds without destroying the plant. Likewise, Christ addressed the sin without forgetting the infinite worth of the person. His justice was never separated from His mercy, and His mercy never weakened His call to repentance.
Our homes, churches, and communities become stronger when we follow that pattern. Freedom flourishes where accountability is joined with love. Relationships heal when truth is spoken with humility instead of pride. The Savior shows us that genuine correction invites change rather than shame, always pointing people toward hope instead of despair. This is the Christlike way of helping others rise.

Pause before correcting someone today. Pray that your words will reflect both truth and compassion, asking yourself whether your goal is to win an argument or help a person draw closer to Christ.
