“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” — 1 Corinthians 1:27
“God does not wait for perfection; He works through obedience.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
History is not shaped by flawless people but by willing ones. Scripture repeatedly reminds us that God’s greatest movements began with ordinary men and women who felt unqualified, uncertain, and at times afraid. Their strength was never found in personal greatness but in humble submission to a higher purpose. When God calls imperfect people, He is not overlooking weakness; He is transforming it into testimony.
We often measure significance by visibility. If our influence feels small, we assume it is inconsequential. Yet God measures impact by faithfulness. A quiet word spoken in truth can redirect a life. A principled decision made in private can preserve freedom for others. Like a single vote that alters the course of a nation or a small rudder that steers a large ship, unseen obedience carries enduring power. God works through spheres of influence, not stages. He places people exactly where their faith can do the most good.
Imperfection is not a disqualification; it is the condition that keeps us dependent on God. When we recognize our limits, we make room for His strength. The world is not changed by self-appointed heroes but by servants who answer when God calls. Christ Himself modeled this truth by choosing fishermen, tax collectors, and common laborers to carry an eternal message. Their willingness changed history because they trusted God more than they trusted themselves. Living this principle draws us into a Christlike life of courage, humility, and faithful action.
