“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” — Romans 12:2
“Truth is not discovered by volume or repetition, but by humility before God and obedience to His light.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
We close this year in a world crowded with voices. Opinions multiply faster than wisdom, and information travels farther than understanding. Confusion is no longer accidental. It is cultivated. Yet confusion has never been a permanent condition for those willing to seek truth with discipline and courage. God does not ask His children to guess their way through life. He invites them to discern, to test, and to choose what is right even when it is costly.
Discerning truth requires more than intelligence. It requires alignment. A compass only works when it is properly oriented, and the human soul is no different. When our loves are disordered, truth feels inconvenient. When our pride is unchallenged, error feels comfortable. The moral law of God anchors us when cultural winds shift. Freedom is preserved not by louder arguments but by men and women who submit their minds and habits to what is eternally true. A free people must be a discerning people, or freedom becomes a word without substance.
As followers of Christ, our ultimate resolution for the coming year must be clarity of vision. Jesus did not merely speak truth. He lived it, embodied it, and submitted fully to the Father’s will. To follow Him is to reject shortcuts, half-truths, and emotional reasoning. It is to love truth enough to let it correct us. When we choose discernment over comfort and obedience over approval, we walk the path of Christlike living.
Scripture:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” — Romans 12:2
Daily Application:
Examine one habit today by measuring it against Scripture, prayer, and the fruits it produces, then adjust accordingly.
