“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” — Psalm 46:10
“True strength is found in the quiet confidence that God already sees the victory we cannot yet imagine.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
We live in a world that urges constant motion, yet the Lord invites us to a different kind of power. “Be still” is not a call to inactivity but a call to trust. It is the steady courage of a soldier who knows his Commander sees the entire battlefield. When we pause to acknowledge God’s sovereignty, we anchor our lives in the One who knows the end from the beginning. Our stillness becomes strength because it aligns our will with His eternal vision.
Standing fast in the Lord is not stubbornness. It is faith that refuses to be pushed around by fear. We sometimes imagine ourselves as sailors gripping the wheel in a storm, but God is the One who knows every shoreline and every safe harbor. He asks us to hold our post while He directs the winds. As we practice spiritual stillness, we discover that His foresight grants us a peace that does not depend on circumstances. Confidence grows when we remember that the Lord has already prepared a way through every trial.
When our hearts learn to rest in His knowledge, we stop trying to write our own conclusions. Instead, we walk forward with a quiet assurance that His purposes are unfolding at precisely the right time. This is the strength Christ modeled: a life rooted in the Father’s will, steady, faithful, and unshaken by the storms around Him.
Scripture:

Daily Application:
Pause for three minutes today in silent prayer. Release any situation you are trying to control and affirm aloud that God already knows the outcome and will guide your steps.
