“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5
“Faith is not pretending the night is easy; it is choosing to stand still until the dawn arrives.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Darkness has a way of convincing us that it will last forever. Fear speaks loudly when we are tired, and doubt feels persuasive when the struggle has been long. Yet creation itself testifies against despair. The sun does not negotiate with the night. It rises on schedule, faithful and unmoved. In the same way, God’s light is not delayed by our weakness. It is promised, and promises from heaven do not expire. Holding on is not passive resignation. It is active trust, the kind that refuses to surrender ground to fear while waiting for truth to break through.
Every meaningful victory carries the marks of effort. Muscles strengthen only through resistance. Character forms under weight. Those who have walked through darkness often kneel longer in gratitude because they know what the light costs. The fight does not mean God is absent. It means He is shaping endurance. When answers feel slow, it is not because heaven is silent, but because timing is sacred. Light that arrives at the right moment does more than illuminate. It heals, restores, and teaches us to see clearly.
Christ did not promise a life without nights, but He promised His presence in them. He walked through betrayal, sorrow, and the grave itself to prove that darkness never has the final word. Holding on is an act of discipleship. It declares allegiance to truth when feelings waver. It chooses obedience when outcomes are uncertain. This is Christlike living. Staying faithful in the night so that when the light comes, our hearts are ready to receive it.
