Daily Devotional - July 22nd, 2026
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:11

Commentary:
Most people would never walk into a storm without a coat or step onto a construction site without protective gear. Yet many of us begin each day spiritually unprepared, hoping our good intentions will be enough. Scripture teaches otherwise. God has provided armor, not because He expects us to fear the battle, but because He knows the reality of it. Every day presents choices between truth and deception, courage and compromise, faith and fear. Freedom is preserved when people choose righteousness one decision at a time.
The armor of God reminds us that character is our greatest defense. Truth keeps us steady when lies become persuasive. Righteousness guards the heart from bitterness and temptation. Peace steadies our steps when the world grows chaotic. Faith extinguishes the fiery arrows of doubt and discouragement. Salvation anchors our identity so we are not defined by failure or the opinions of others. The Word of God gives clarity when confusion seems to surround us. Just as a soldier trusts the equipment provided by a wise commander, we can trust that God has already supplied everything needed for faithful living.
Putting on the armor is not a ritual. It is a daily decision to align our thoughts, words, and actions with God’s will before the pressures of the day arrive. We cannot control every circumstance, but we can choose how we prepare our hearts. Christ demonstrated unwavering obedience to the Father even in the face of temptation, and He invites us to follow Him with the same steadfast confidence.
