“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” — Genesis 18:14
“What seems impossible to us is often the very place where God reveals His power.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
When life presents obstacles larger than our resources, our first instinct is often to measure the problem against our own strength. We count the costs, calculate the risks, and conclude that some situations are beyond hope. Yet Scripture repeatedly reminds us that God’s ability is not limited by human circumstances. The same God who created the heavens and earth is not constrained by the barriers that seem permanent to us.
Consider a farmer planting seeds in the spring. To the untrained eye, a handful of seeds buried in the dirt appears lifeless. Yet the farmer trusts a law greater than appearances. In time, growth emerges from what looked impossible. Faith works in a similar way. It does not deny reality, but it recognizes that God is working through realities we cannot yet see. His timing, wisdom, and power often operate beyond our immediate understanding.
Freedom and faith both require trust in principles that endure beyond the moment. A society prospers when it honors moral law, even when shortcuts appear easier. Likewise, a disciple grows stronger when he trusts God’s promises despite present difficulties. The question is not whether the challenge is too great for us. The question is whether anything is too great for Him. Every act of obedience, perseverance, and prayer becomes an expression of confidence in the Lord’s unlimited power. This perspective helps us walk in the footsteps of Christ, who trusted the Father’s will completely.
Scripture:
“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” — Genesis 18:14
Daily Application:
Identify one situation you have quietly labeled “impossible,” and spend five minutes in prayer specifically asking God to help you see that circumstance through the lens of His power rather than your limitations.
