“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place;” — Esther 4:14
“Silence in critical moments is a decision, not neutrality.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Esther faced a defining choice. She could remain silent and preserve her safety, or speak and risk everything. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision that something greater is at stake. Influence carries responsibility. When we are placed in positions to act, inaction becomes its own form of choice.
Opportunities to stand for truth often come unexpectedly. Like a door that opens briefly, they require readiness. Courage is built beforehand, through small decisions that align with principle. When the moment arrives, we draw on that foundation.
Christ consistently chose courage over comfort, speaking truth even when it brought opposition. His example reminds us that purpose is fulfilled through action.
Scripture:
“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14
Daily Application:
Speak up for one truth or person today, even if it feels uncomfortable.
