“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” — Genesis 50:20
“What feels like a setback may be God’s way of positioning you forward.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Joseph’s life unfolded in stages that seemed disconnected. Betrayal, slavery, imprisonment. None of it looked like progress. Yet each season developed the exact skills and character he would need later. God was not absent in hardship. He was orchestrating it. Providence often works quietly, building strength where we least expect it.
When life feels unfair, it is easy to assume something has gone wrong. But growth rarely happens in comfort. Like iron shaped by fire, our capacity expands through resistance. The key is to remain faithful in the present assignment, even when it does not match our expectations. Preparation often disguises itself as delay.
Christ’s life followed a similar pattern. Years of quiet preparation preceded His public ministry. This reminds us that hidden seasons are not wasted. They are essential.
Scripture:
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” — Genesis 50:20
Daily Application:
Reframe one current struggle as preparation and identify one skill you can develop through it.
