“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5
“Faith is not the absence of questions, but the courage to keep building while heaven is silent.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Every believer faces moments when questions rise like waves against the hull of our faith. The temptation in such moments is to drift—away from truth, away from trust, and away from the foundations that once steadied our hearts. Yet questioning does not mean unbelief. God invites our sincere inquiry, for He is not threatened by an honest heart that seeks understanding. What matters is that, while we wait for His answers, we do not abandon the ship of faith that carried us through calmer seas.
When the storm challenges your confidence in God’s plan, remember that the anchor was not placed there for the sunshine, but for the tempest. Faith is forged in the unseen; it is strengthened by holding to what we know of God’s character when everything else feels uncertain. Working in faith, continuing to pray, serve, and trust, keeps us spiritually active while heaven completes its unseen work. The Lord rewards the soul that endures, not because questions are forbidden, but because endurance proves devotion even when understanding delays.
To live like Christ is to stand firm in the truth you know while humbly seeking the truth you do not yet understand.
