“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” — Matthew 24:35
“It is sad that the pervasiveness of pride and insolence in society has led many to believe the principles of morality can be changed through popular legislation. Fortunately, God’s decrees cannot be adulterated by crowds or substantiated by popular opinion.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Moral truth stands outside the reach of human authority. Laws may shift, and cultural winds may blow in new directions, but God’s eternal standards remain unchanged. The moral law is not a social construct; it is the framework upon which a just and free society must be built. When individuals or nations attempt to redefine morality, they are not reshaping truth—they are merely distancing themselves from it. Like gravity, moral law does not cease to function simply because people deny its existence.
History has shown that civilizations rise and fall on their treatment of moral absolutes. Rome collapsed under indulgence and moral decay, while the American Founders built their principles upon “the laws of nature and of nature’s God.” Every time humanity drifts from divine order, it experiences confusion, division, and decay. Yet when it returns to God’s truth, peace and prosperity follow. In the end, moral absolutes are not restrictions—they are the boundaries that preserve freedom and human dignity. Living by them is an act of both obedience and love toward the Creator who designed them for our happiness.
To follow Christ is to accept that truth is not ours to redefine but to honor and uphold.
