“Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.” — Psalm 147:5
“A miracle is not the violation of natural law, but the operation of higher laws known perfectly to God and hidden from us. What seems impossible to human reason is fully possible to the One who authored our existence and whose knowledge is infinite.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Scripture consistently presents God as the source of both creation and wisdom: “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3). What we call miracles are not God suspending His own order but God exercising a complete mastery over the laws He Himself established. When Christ walked on water or raised Lazarus, He was not overturning creation but revealing dimensions of creation we cannot yet perceive.
This does not make His works less wondrous. In fact, it deepens our awe. God’s power is not arbitrary magic, but perfect knowledge of truth, both seen and unseen. Science, at its best, is humanity’s attempt to uncover pieces of that truth. Faith, at its best, trusts that all truth, whether revealed through scripture or scientific discovery, is God’s truth. One day the veil will be lifted, and we will understand that the Author of life has always been the Author of law as well.

Daily Application:
The next time you encounter something that seems miraculous or unexplainable, let it increase your reverence, not your skepticism. Remember that your limited comprehension does not limit God. Instead, allow the mystery to strengthen your faith that God’s wisdom and power extend beyond the boundaries of human discovery.
