“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:” — Isaiah 1:18
“The seeming discrepancy between faith and logic lies in the false notion that knowledge can only be obtained through our physical senses. Faith is logic in its simplest form, unclouded by doubt or incessant cynicism.” - Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Faith and reason aren’t enemies but partners seeking truth through different methods. Faith doesn’t contradict logic, it transcends limitations of purely empirical knowledge by accessing spiritual realities physical senses cannot detect.
The conflict between faith and reason is often artificial, created by assuming only material things are real. When we recognize spiritual realities exist alongside physical ones, faith becomes reasonable, and reason becomes faithful.
Scripture:
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:” — Isaiah 1:18
Daily Application:
Consider an area where you’ve felt tension between faith and logic. Instead of choosing one over the other, look for how they might complement each other to provide fuller understanding of truth.
