“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” — Luke 16:10
“One social conundrum is the fact that we are willing to take on challenges that test the limits of humanity and yet will ignore the small and simple things that make life worth living.” — Alma Ohene-Opare
Commentary:
Humanity has scaled mountains, split the atom, sent rockets beyond our atmosphere, and created technology that connects the globe. Yet, in our fascination with the grand and the extraordinary, we often neglect the quiet practices that give life its meaning.
The irony is striking: we cheer when someone breaks a world record but overlook the neighbor who faithfully serves in obscurity. We marvel at tales of adventure while failing to practice daily gratitude. Society is drawn to spectacle, but heaven treasures the small and simple.
True greatness is rarely forged in the spotlight. It is cultivated in the unseen moments of prayer, in a habit of honesty, in the consistency of keeping one’s word, and in the countless small choices that add up to character. The Savior taught this principle when He said: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” (Luke 16:10). Faithfulness in little things prepares us for greater stewardship.
Scripture:
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” — Luke 16:10
Daily Application:
Instead of looking for dramatic change, choose one small, consistent act that could reshape your day and eventually your life. It could be a sincere prayer every morning, a deliberate act of kindness, or a moment of scripture study before bed. Small, simple, consistent efforts compound into spiritual strength, meaningful relationships, and a life of joy.
